Training on Marketing and Promotion of Himmeli Kit in Pruszcz Gdański, 17-21.06.2025
As part of the initiative, a 5-day training session was conducted, focusing on promoting Himmeli kits using digital marketing methods and building local collaborative consortia to promote Himmeli crafts and art.
The training was held from June 17th to 21st, 2025, in Pruszcz Gdański. Five employees from each partner organization from Poland, Greece, and North Macedonia participated.
The training focused on methods for effectively promoting Himmeli kits in local communities. Participants learned the basics of product marketing, branding, and creating a message targeted to local audiences. They worked with offline and online promotional tools, including social media, informational materials, and community engagement techniques. During practical sessions, they prepared proposals for local promotional campaigns, then presented and discussed them with trainers, receiving guidance on adapting activities to the specific needs of their localities.
As a result of the training, the project team developed:
- a guide for teachers and youth workers, "Marketing and Promotion of Himmeli Kit," containing a description of traditional and online tools to facilitate the promotion of pro-ecological values among local youth, and a description of traditional and online tools to facilitate the promotion of Himmeli arts and crafts;
- a guide for teachers and youth workers, "Christmas Decoration Competition as a Method for Popularizing Himmeli Arts and Crafts," containing a historical outline of the use of Himmeli art during the Christmas season, step-by-step instructions for creating Christmas decorations from Himmeli, and a plan for conducting a Christmas decoration competition made from Himmeli.
The developed guides were posted on the project website and on the Erasmus+ Programme Results Platform.
Following the training, each of the three partner organizations held Himmeli promotion meetings combined with short training sessions in two schools or NGOs in their region. They distributed Himmeli kits to teachers and youth workers, and handed out guides developed as part of the project, as well as demonstration Himmeli kits made by the youth themselves. Teachers who received the guides will be able to learn the basics of Himmeli craftsmanship from them and then share this knowledge with their students in classrooms.
As part of the work package, each of the three partner organizations also prepared the first edition of a competition for the best Himmeli Christmas decoration. Thanks to the established cooperation networks (including local schools, NGOs, and local governments), this competition will be held annually (in Poland, it will be district-wide, and in North Macedonia and Greece, it will be municipal-wide).
